What Amenities a Good Coworking Space Must Have
Brochures list dozens of perks. Only some of them change your working day. This is a checklist of the amenities that matter, and what to look for in each.

The essentials
- High-speed Wi-Fi: test it during your tour at your normal working hour.
- Air conditioning: Surat summers make this non-negotiable.
- Electricity: check whether there is a fair-use policy and whether backup exists.
- Regular housekeeping: clean desks, floors and shared areas every day.
- Filtered water: both cold and ambient is a good sign.
Access and security
Keyless entry means no lost keys and a clear record of who comes and goes. Combined with a reception and an on-site team, it makes the space safer for people working late.
Support when you need it
A visible support team solves problems before they spoil your day. At OORA the team is on site 9 AM–7 PM, with desks open Mon–Sat 08:00–23:00 (Sunday closed).
Places to meet and to focus
A conference room for client meetings, a mini conference room for small team huddles, discussion booths and telephone booths for calls all keep noise off the main floor. OORA's main conference room is ₹1,500 for the first hour.
Storage
A cupboard or locker for documents and equipment lets you travel light, especially on a flexible seat.
Food and breaks
An in-house cafe or pantry saves you from leaving the building for every snack. A visitor waiting lounge is also helpful when guests arrive early.
Community
Events and networking sessions are an amenity too. They turn neighbours into contacts. Read about it in how coworking creates business opportunities.

Amenities that sound good but matter less
Game rooms, branded merchandise and decorative extras can add to the atmosphere, but they should not distract you from the basics. A space with fast Wi-Fi, a quiet floor and a helpful team will serve you better than one with a pool table and an unreliable connection.
How to test amenities on a tour
- Run a speed test and a video call from the desk you would use.
- Check the temperature at the far end of the floor.
- Ask where you would store your belongings.
- Look at the washrooms and pantry: cleanliness there reflects the whole operation.
- Ask what happens if the power or internet fails.
- Meet the person you would call with a problem.
Amenities and your plan
On most plans, common amenities are shared. What differs is how you use the desk. Flexible plans give you any available seat. Fixed plans give you a reserved desk and, at OORA, the mini conference room. See the plan comparison for the details.
